Natures Way Foods Chichester Triathlon 2019

NWF has been the principle sponsor of the Chichester Triathlon since the event started in 2006. The triathlon has gone from strength-to-strength each year and there are a wide variety of events for adults and juniors over the two-day period.  From beginner to expert, there really is something for everybody.

This year the triathlon is held on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July. Whether you’ve taken part before, you’re a total novice or you just want a new challenge for 2019, join in and get involved!

You can take part in the Sprint (shorter) or Olympic (longer) distance as an individual or as a team. There is also the opportunity to compete in an Aquathlon (swim and run), Aquabike (swim and bike), and brand new for this year is the adult Duathlon (run, bike, run) sprint distance for those that don’t want to do all three.

Last year Everyone Active offered our staff free swimming and bike training sessions on the run up to the event. A group of our triathletes meet up at Westgate Leisure with the Chichester City Riders to practice the route and chat about transitioning and general triathlon advice.

"Getting together with colleagues that you don’t normally talk to during the lead up to the event to train or discuss all things Tri. Throughout the course, everyone is so supportive and then there is a huge sense of achievement whilst crossing the finish line." - Kathryn Mundy, Senior Process Development Technologist.

We asked a few of our NWF triathletes why they signed up to the triathlon, what their favourite part is and what they would say to inspire others to get involved. Here are some of their answers!

What would you say to other people to inspire them to do it?
“The exhilaration of finishing is wonderful, and all the hard work in getting fitter before is worth it.” – Colin Smith, CEO

Why did you sign up to the Chichester Triathlon?
"Because I am into cycling and joined a team that has now competed for the past 3 years. I am competitive and see it has a challenge to beat my time every year." - Paul Hiscock, Manufacturing Manager

What is your favourite part of the Chi Tri?
"Getting together with colleagues that you don’t normally talk to during the lead up to the event to train or discuss all things Tri. Throughout the course, everyone is so supportive and then there is a huge sense of achievement whilst crossing the finish line." - Kathryn Mundy, Senior Process Development Technologist
