Initiatives
To ensure we achieve our environmental objectives we have a number of schemes in place, such as:
- Zero to Landfill through energy regeneration
- Over 98% of wash water is filtered and used to irrigate local crops
- Over 94% of raw material waste is recycled/composted
- Clean Chemical Drums are returned to suppliers for reuse
- All waste metal goes for recycling
- All ink cartridges and IT equipment are recycled
- Card and paper is sold to mills for recycling
And not forgetting nature itself; we have ensured our sites enhance the local flora and fauna, encouraging the local wildlife to flourish:
- Wildlife ponds are thriving thanks to the roof water from our Runcton site
- Bird boxes house wild birds
- Nesting moorhens, dragonflies, newts and frogs are making homes in the environments on and around our sites
- Hedgerow habitats are strengthened with planned planting and gap-filling
- Water voles enjoy cleaner, clearer ditches and waterways thanks to our clearing efforts
